Lateral Entry Form for UG program - 2026

1. Program Overview:

Duration: 4-Year Degree program in respective disciplines (Admission to the 2nd Year of the Under-Graduate Degree Program under NEP-2020)

2. Eligibility:

School of Commerce:

  • B. Com (Hons.) in Accounting / Finance: Must have completed First Year of B. Com (Hons.) in Accounting (Major) or Finance (Major) as per NEP 2020.
  • BBM (Hons.) in Marketing / Human Resource: Must have completed First Year BBM/BBA (Hons.) in Marketing (Major) or Human Resource (Major) as per NEP 2020.

School of Communications:

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) in Media Studies: Must have completed First-year BSc/BA/BFA/BDes/BArch/BVoc or first-year in any UG degree as per NEP 2020 guidelines or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution or university such as Media Studies, Mass Communication, Journalism, Visual Communication, Film Studies, Digital Media, Multimedia, Digital Journalism, Communication, Public Relations, Advertising, Animation, Graphics, Visual Effects, Photography, Event Management or allied fields like Fashion Design, Fine Arts, Painting, Visual Arts, Printing Technology and other relevant disciplines like English, Linguistics, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Social Work, Public Administration, Education.

School of Sustainability:

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) in Sustainable Development: Must have completed first-year B.Sc./B.A. or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution in the following domains:
  • (a) Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Sociology / Geography / Social Work / Anthropology / Human Development (cannot opt for Environmental Science Minor, applicable for Management Minor),
  • (b) Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Environmental Science/Botany/ Chemistry/ Zoology/ Geography/ Geology/ Earth Science/Biology/ Biological Science/ Microbiology/Life Science/Biotechnology / Biochemistry/ Physics/ Agriculture/ Forestry,
  • (c) Bachelor of Science (BSc.) with following combination Physics-Chemistry-Mathematics (PCM), Physics-Chemistry-Biology (PCB), Chemistry-Botany-Zoology (CBZ).

School of Economics:

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) in Economics: Must have completed First year B.Sc./BA in Economic (Hons.) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution as per NEP 2020.

School of Governance & Public Affairs:

  • B.A. (Hons.) in Public Administration & Governance: Must have completed First year undergraduate degree program in Public Administration / Public Policy / Politics / Political Science / International Politics / International Relations or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution as per NEP 2020.

School of Liberal Arts:

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) in Psychology: Must have completed First year B.Sc./B.A. in Psychology (Hons.) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution as per NEP 2020.
  • B.A. (Hons.) in English: Must have completed First Year B.A. (Hons.) in English /Linguistics/History/Geography/Philosophy/Sociology/Psychology/Political Science/Communication/Journalism/Anthropology/Law/Economics/Social Work/Public Administration/Fine Arts/Education or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution as per NEP 2020.
3. Mandatory Requirements:
  • The candidate must have passed Class XII (or equivalent) examination in any discipline, with at least 60% marks in aggregate, from a recognized Board/University.
  • Candidates seeking lateral entry to the undergraduate programs in the second year must have been admitted to the 4-Year Degree Program in the respective disciplines as per NEP 2020 Guidelines.
  • Candidates seeking lateral entry to the undergraduate programs in the second year must have secured a CGPA of at least 7.0 or equivalent without any back papers.
  • Out of 40 Credits in the First Year of Undergraduate programs, a minimum of 16 Credits must have been earned from Major Courses.
  • All the credits earned from the previous institution should appear in the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC).
  • Candidate seeking admission under lateral entry scheme must produce a conduct certificate with “Good” /” Excellent” rating and should not be rusticated student or given TC as a punishment from the previous institution.
  • Candidates shortlisted based on their application will have to appear for Personal Interview (PI) in online mode only.
4. How to apply?

Keep the following ready before you start filling in the form:

  1. Scanned / digital images of your passport size photo in JPEG format, with dimensions of about 200x250 pixels and within 50 kb in size;
  2. A Scanned copy of your signature in JPEG format, with dimensions of about 200x250 pixels and within 50 KB in size;
  3. Scanned / digital images of your Marksheets in JPEG format, with dimensions of about 200x250 pixels and within 50 kb in size;
  4. Bank account/debit card details for carrying out the on-line payment transaction.
Step 1: Enter your basic credentials in the New User section to get your unique XU ID/Login ID/Username and Password by email for logging into the application form of XIM University.
Step 2: In the Existing User section, login with your XU ID/ Login ID/Username and Password and fill-up the Personal Details, Academic Details Choose the program/s you want to apply for, upload your photo & signature, and submit.
Step 3: Pay the application fee through the Payment Gateway. Application fee is Rs. 1500/- for one program. Use the same Login ID/ same form for applying for multiple UG programs (Lateral).

If you have filled in the application form and paid the application fee successfully, you will receive the confirmation by email regarding the acceptance of your online application form.

5. Selection Process:
  • Selection will be based on merit and meeting the eligibility criteria
  • The shortlisted candidates will be invited for an Online Personal Interview.
6. General Instructions:
  • Ensure all information provided is accurate and complete.
  • Incomplete or incorrect applications may be rejected.
  • Keep a copy of the application form and payment receipt for future reference.
  • Do not create multiple registrations.
